Fabio and Rider are on 1am-3am Saturday Morning.....Usually it is called Friday night though on the schedule.

What gets my goat about the TV licence is getting constantly hassled about it when one does not own said article.

Thankfully I now live in a place where I am a bit more off the beaten track...but I used to get those inspectors coming around all the time, shoving notices in my face. Underlining the '?1000 fine' section with multiple biro lines....and I'm just saying

'I DON'T HAVE A TV'

and they are looking at me all suspicious like I am some criminal.

If their bloody van scan things worked they'd know that I have no TV, but they don't know shit

Then you walk down the road and the revenue mad government has put posters everywhere:

"Get a TV licence or get a ?1000 fine" is the simple slogan

uuuuuuu....how about option 3 you government fuckwits - Don't get a TV, Don't get a licence, Don't get a fine.

Oh yeh and there is the other add...."Our database shows every address without a TV licence...Get one or get a ?1000 fine"

Or just fuck off

Pathetic isn't it

I realise it is trmeendous value and all that compared to satallite/cable, and that the BBC provides probably the only decent corporate programs, news and radio on the planet; but it is also a choice.

I'm curious... does the law require you to have a TV licence in order to have a TV? In other words, if I have an old TV that is unplugged in the attic, do I still have to have a licence? What if I have a TV tuner video card in my computer? What if I have a TV, but only use it to watch videos and not to tune into public broadcasts/cable/satalite/etc? What if I have a TV tuner running to set off the alarm in the vans, but no picture tube attached? Lots of what ifs here...

Dunno about the attic....you could be in the stew

I think they have/are changing the law so that if you use a TV card in your PC you do need to get a licence

There is no such thing as a TV just for videos - pay up! It's got an ariel on it...you can tune into the bbc....you MUST pay.

If you just run the tuner with no tube attached you could have real fun winding up the inspectors....probably end up costing you ?1000 tho

If you have the means you must have the licence....I suppose it's like owning a gun, don't matter where you keep it or if you even ever use it. If you own it - you need the licence.

My life story... this is the kind of stuff that always gets me in trouble...

I can see my new product now... a tuner hooked up to a digital recorder to record broadcasts and a computer/lcd flat panel to play them back... no television needed or included.

hmm. I have a few norwegian friends who went to school at my uni last year... they all seem to be pretty comfortable with their country, boardering on gloating at times...

I wonder if you guys might know some of them? one is going to be going to school in oslo next semester.. I mean, there aren't that many of you, and he smokes ganja and whatnot, I wonder..

the tv licence laws in uk and norway are the same thing

but here in norway, its not like they can do much if you dont pay the licence. you will not get charged by the police and the tv channel nrk will not send people to your door and collect your tv. just do like I did, I called them and said I sold my tv on internet
