Longer Salvia Journeys?

Hiya,
Recently I have been trying to go on a nice salvia trip.
But have not been succeeding too well.
I have tried smoking 5x and 10x extract, not sure of amounts as I don't have a scale, but I would say maybe .1 or .2 of a gram, though it could be less.
Anyway, I definately visit Salvia land, which I really like, but it will only last about 5 minutes at the most
I have been trying every night for about a week now, so tolerance could be an issue at the moment, but even the first night I tried I only got 5 min or less.
I tried also tried a quid with some dried leaves, keeping it under the lip for a while, not swallowing the juices so the mucus membrene could absorb it, and even chewed and swallowed the wad after about an hour, with no effect whatsoever.
Any suggestions on what could help?
I really want to go to Salvia land, so enjoyable with The Polyphonic Spree in the background

ahh ok, i see u have done 10x already...I did not mean to put 20x. Sometimes you might want to be sure your mind is clear and ready and you may even try some meditation before a trip. For a stronger trip and possibly longer one you may try the 20x Salvia Extract, but stick with lower extracts for a while. Anyways, to make my point...I don't really think a salvia trip can be induced for longer than 10-15 mintues at a time. You should also be getting a stoned feeling for an hour or so after you have the trip. Anyways, good luck man

If you can enter for a short time in Salvia land maybe there is a reason. This reason is inside you and inside Salvia...

That's just the way smoked salvia works. Personally i wouldn't want to be in salvia land for more than 10 mins, but that's just me.
If you want a longer trip (but less intense) get some fresh leaves out of a plant and chew them.

Thanks for the replies.
Just asking about a longer trip as on erowid and such it always says about a 40 minute trip with smoked.
Might have to try a quid again.
Just a small side question, does the body develop a tolerance to Salvinorium, sp?, if so, how long does it take to reduce the tolerance back to 0, or as close to it as possible, levels?
Oh, and one more thing, I am currently on 12.5 mg of paxil, again, could this be affecting it?

paxil as well as other antidepressants are known to reduce the effects of some substances, like psilocin/bin, lsd, it might affect salvia somehow i guess.
i also think a 40 minutes journey from smoked salvia is a bit exaggerated...

You're trying too hard, just let it come to you.
That and don't smoke so much!
It's like you're disrespecting it and it doesn't want to know you.
Think of it in terms of being a sentient lifeform.
Treat it how you would like to be treated.

AFAIK. MAOI's are these days only prescribed when all other medication fails, since they produce all those nasty side effects. (you have to be very careful about what you eat) SSRI's ,Prozac and the like, are specific to serotonin and are not MAOI's. Combining SSRI's and MAOI's is however still very dangerous, because the serotonin in the nervous system starts to accumulate and it isn't broken down (due to the MAOI) and it isn't reabsorbed in the nerve cell (because of the SSRI)
This can lead to serotonin syndrome which can be deadly when left untreated.
So combining SSRI's with ayahuasca is dangerous, the interactions with other substances vary. Consult erowid for details.
