Hello
Question bout my left TiT... 
Actually its not a tub in tub, but a heater in a large glas (10 inch high, 4 inch wide) in a coolbox.
The heater is adjustable and I put the temp at 88F.
Inside the coolbox temp is nog getting higher then 82F.
WHat to do? I dont feel for buying another 2 tubs really.......

leave it as it is, 2-4 degrees isnt going to make that much difference
if you are wanting to boost it, buy a higher wattage heater

Colonizing mycelium creates heat, 82 outside the jar my very well be 84/85 degrees inside the jar. Which is the best possible temps for colonization.
I have a TiT incubator. When I place a blanket over/around it, the heat inside levels off around 86F, without the blanket 82F. Try insulating your incubator, Im sure temps will rise after you do this.

if your heater is set at 85 and it's keeping the water at 85 then you don't need a bigger heater. I have a 95qt TiT a 100w heater is doing great. TiT works because the relatively large thermal mass of the heated water has no problem keeping the other tub warm. It could just be that your glass of water is so small heat can't flow out of it fast enough to keep up with heating the whole box. In theory a larger container of water would have more surface area for heat energy to transfer to the surrounding tub. That's why TiT is preferable because it allows heat to transfer across the entire bottom surface of your tub.

Keey thanks, 82 aint that bad thats true.
Nah a higher wattage dont really matter imho, even a 25W heater can heat up 2 liters of water as high as technical possible.
I can check if I can put the temp a little higher on the thermostate.
BTW, I had soem WBS jars 7 days old which did not colonize. I knocked on up yesterday to see if I can save the substrate... Some say it will work, will it?

Good point. In the past I've used a heater in a jar setup, it wasnt abnormal for the water/heater to reach temps exceding 100F. Even at these temps the incubator only reached temps of ~80 and eventually the heater blew up.
82 is good, cover with a blanket.

That all depends on why your first inoculation didnt germinate. I think you lost some spores however.

Hey Wally, yes I agree on heater capacity. As I said any heater can heat up half a gallon to the max. Could place 2 heaters in it (in 2 different watermasses) but then no space left for jars.. 
And then it is just as cheap to buy 2 tubs to build another TIT.
Agreed on that too, I also noticed that puting my tub deeper in the other that the temp is more constant inside with less difference in temp between top and bottom of jartub.
But I aint gonna put a larger glass in it either as Prisoner#1 says 82F will do, has to do...

Hye DMC its a cool box its covered with a lid!
I think teh syringe was bad, I made 4 BRF cakes, and 4 WBS jars.
3 cakes + 1 wbs got a dose of GT spores
1 cake + 4 wbs got a dose of EQ spores.
All GT showed myc after 3 days.
None EQ showed myc after 7 days. (yesterday)
So I already knocked up one of the EQ jars as a test. Did it with B+ from same vendor. He is gonna replace the syringe, but not the time effort & material..
It would be a waste to throw the WBS away when iys still usable.

luvwallyworld yeah, it wasnt a submersible and apparently it over heated and the bottum half of the glass blew off, exposing live wires to water. I put my finger in the water in the jar several times after that to feel how hot it was, little to my knowing I could of had the shit shocked out of me..... live and learn i say

mushroom why do you have so much trouble getting your jars to grow?
i made up a bunch of wbs hlf pints, and i threw em out cause i dind't like the growth in them. I used amazon liquid growth so in 2 days i see some white but kinda going grey color in the myc..now i soaked these seeds using coffee water with the grains still in the water..so the wbs soaked the coffee grains as well.
i assumed that the grey growth kinda fuzzy was cobweb i believe, but i could have been wrong..i noticed from my wbs jars they grew bright white..which i have them cased..i had a few other jars from fucking around they grew real grey fuzzy like also i dumped those quick..
i've also noticed from using popcorn the growth using karo is damn quick..after 2 days i wanna say my jars were all ready 20% + done.but the jars seem to going grey but i think its just my lighting because i do see white growth. well i guess im just replying that yeah i have had contams no biggie because i know how to make good karo jars. gives me plenty of juice so if i fuck up start over..im going to knock up 2 half pints of cracked corn today..

Ah its all explainable.
First batch of cakes (8) 2 survived and are fruiting. 2 had contams. 4 had no growth. Maybe cause I did not shake syringe. And the fine verm and brf was rather packed, so it took a long time.
The popcorn got contamned after I cased it.
Batch of GT, no no growth at all after 10 days. I got new syringe from vendor and that is going fast.
Batch of GT, all cakes fine myc after 3 days, now 7 days and over 50% colonized. The WBS pint same, but there migh tbe wetspot in that! 
Batch of EQ, one cake and 3 WBS quarts, no growth at all. Same cakemix and same WBS as GT. I did not shake syringe either (forgot *sigh*) but there must be sumtin wrong with syringe.
Vendor thinks that too and he will replace it with a new one.
My karo did not work out.
Yeah yeah, now Im making own syringes, I think that owns.
Take a look at this:
My first one, made it yesterday. Look how purple, compared to vendor syringes those are a ripp off!
