Aphex twin - help me out!

So I went to my local record store a few days ago looking to get my first taste of Aphex twin, as I've heard very good things. Took me a while to finally find his stuff in the corner of the store, and it turns out there are like 20 different albums to choose from. I was gonna go for the Richard D. James album, dont know why, then I look at the price tag: $30!! So Im like screw it, cuz I didnt wanna blow that kinda cash on an album I know nothing about.. ANYways, for someone who is looking to get into aphex twin, what album would you recommend?

dont pay more than 18 for a new aphex twin album, go oout and get "i care because you do" listen to that then go get "RDJ album" and listen to that... after that you can appriciate drukgs....
also, get his selcted ambiant works vol II (you can get this one at any time, its just an amazing album)
his first selected is good to, very early techno type stuff... he is a pioneer aftera ll some of those tracks were written when he was younger than 12
peace...
fuck just get anything
but remember, dont go over 18 bucks for ANY new album thats fucked...
i tell you what...
pm let me know what tiem youre on the net

I would recommend Selected Ambient Works 85-92
-------------------- A plethora of music aspirations control my temptations of future revelations beyond "now". The percussion, and the heart beat of my love and devotion. The rhythm goes beyond, prying into the third eye, releasing the creativity held so far inside. The melodicies, through the out of tune pianos and broken classical guitars...there lies a beauty. A beauty as prevelent as the fire inside. To release these energies is pure ecstacy, to deveop these gifts is sacred. The vocality, so pure as can be, shying away from herself, lies within me. For the underlying serenitity, this is what I live for. I plea for harmony, and nothing more. Music equals love. Creation of love leads to the procreativity of the World, and it's spirals and puddles prevailing.

http://www.discogs.com/artist/Aphex+Twin get anything pre-come to daddy...that was he went in decline. I remember when that album came out, I knew it was over. Forget drukqs and windowlicker and 26 mixes. I recommend: Analogue Bubblebath 3 Selected Ambient Works I & II I Care Because You Do Classics On Donkey Rhubarb also get his work until the names Polygon Window and Caustic Window. as for purchasing cds, I recommend bypassing the ripoff record stores: visit www.bleep.com

caustic window i dont think is so good, but polygon window is GREAT.
come to daddy is a good album, flim and buchephelus are som of his best songs and a good mix of "my feet my arms and my ears... and.... your beat"
selected ambiant works is key
(other yummies to get ON, donkey rhubarb, laughable butane bob, hangable auto bulb, powerpill pacman, GAK)
analogue bubble baths are awesome, but in my opinion 3 isnt the gretaest... i cant even really listen to it much anymore....
all the other bubble baths have less songs, but they are quality IMO.
peace AGAIN
