my grandma want to pressure cook some horse poop to mix with brf/verm crumbled jars.
how long should she cook it for?
is putting it in a pillow case in the pressure cooker ok? the case won't block the vent hole will it. she cooked vermiculite in a bag in the cooker once, and the bag covered the vent hole, and eventually spewed out all over the kitchen like a volcano!

Pillow case should be OK. I put a pie tin on top of the bags to hold them down during pc.
Many folks just pastuerize horse poop, not sterilize. Both ways seem to work. People will swear by pastuerization, though. Can I get a 'whoa pastuerization'?

pastuerize it, it will lower your chances of getting wet spots and other contams growing on it. I just place all my dried poop in a large pot and fill it with water, then bring it to a boil for 10 min, strain out the poop and make sure their is no water dripping from it(it holds water well, none should be sitting in your cantainer). then I place it in my lasagna tins, cover iwth foil, and place in oven at 175F for 2 hours. Then just let it cool down and spawn it with your colonized jars(or whatever else you have planned).

what kind of yields do you get with this lasagna pan / poop method? what type of jars are you making up?
