Corn Q
    #3500880 - 12/14/04 10:06 PM (19 years, 4 months ago)

I'm colonizing wbs and i've read about people using macroni now and things of the sort...i read that you can use cracked corn and i had some squrill food that has regualr corn in it....i was wondering what's the difference between reg. corn and cracked corn, i'd hate to soak this stuff, simmer, sterilyze, inoculate and then wait for nothing....thankx

Treat all grains the same..simmer and soak. Easiest way. Not all need a simmer (like WBS after a 24-48 hour soak, some still say it does) but its easiest to do it this way. Just make sure you dont burst whatever grain your working with.

Psychoslut successfully colonized regular corn but was using it for spawn so I dont know how well it would fruit. The differences are how nutrious it is for mushrooms. You can get stuff like macaroni and corn to work but will the fruits be that of rye? I doubt it. If your using for spawn on the other hand you can use just about anything..even cardboard.
