The secret to fast colonization of cakes? Fresh spores! Look at these results:
One of my elves made up some jars and let them cool overnight. He also made fresh prints overnight. First thing in the morning, he made up some syringes and innoculated the jars. First signs of germination showed within 48 hours of innoculation. After 10 days, one jar was ready to be birthed. The rest of the jars caught within 2 -3 -4 days. All jars were birthed within 14 days of innoculation. The jar which was birthed on Day 10 showed pins by Day 14.
But the best jar of all was the one which pinned invitro on Day 8 with the cake only 75% colonized. He birthed it immediately and picked a 7 incher on Day 14.
Shrooms in 2 weeks...now thats fast and no doubt about it, the fresher the spores, the faster the results!

Thats awesome, Max...Speaking of speedy colonization..I have 9 jars of the notoriously slow TCs ready for casing at 11 days! I'm usually an inpatient bastard, but had I known this 'snail strain' would have been this fast I would have not put it on the backburner for so damn long...

Ya, same ones you ordered from the SporeLab stu. I hope you have as much success!
hatter, good results on your TC's, I've always found them as fast as any other strain. I presume you have them in a nice warm enviroment. I find that is as important as fresh spores.
Here's a new pic of Tapalpa's:
