Ends and Means
    #3496980 - 12/14/04 02:05 PM (11 years, 11 months ago)

I've noticed that many people (here and elsewhere) have expressed a similar view when it comes to spirituality. That is, that there is some kind of end goal when it comes to being spiritual. It seems that some like the idea of a hierarchy of spirituality.

I say FUCK THAT.

To me, spirituality is the living process. It's the eternal MEANS to an end that never comes. Once you get on the train, you're all equal (BTW, the price of a train ticket is life) as the tracks asymptotically approach the great abyss. The problem comes when people THINK they're better than others once they're aboard. But there are no private cabins... everyone has a window seat... and we're all sharing the same boxcar with the same hay-bale-seats. It sucks sometimes when you're trying to point that out to the fella sitting next to you.

Awesome, Schlorch! I think this can also apply to quite a few other areas in life. Heck, I would even apply it to "Life" itself!

Don't confuse the method with the results, right?

You're here because you know something.
What you know you can't explain,
But you feel it;
You've felt it your entire life.
That there's something wrong with the world.
You don't know what it is, but it's there....
Like a splinter in your mind...
Driving you mad.

to me, life is like riding the fibonacci spiral.
we keep riding it, not knowing where we're going
and always going where we've never been
