 Sterilizing horse poo question...? (PC or boil?)

If I have autoclavable bags, can I put my mix of horse poo and chopped up hay into one of them, and then just use a regular pot of boiling water to sterilize my poo? Or will this not kill enough germs? I'm thinking about just getting a cheap $30 pressure cooker from walmart, but it won't have a gauge on it.

Get the pressure cooker. Even if it doesn't have the gauge, it would be alot more sterile than using a pot. Even if you have autoclavble bags, that doesn't mean it'll be very sterile, a pot isn't enough.

You want to pasteurize Not sterilize.

This is probably slightly debatable, but I would say that you are much better off pasteurizing your poo instead of sterilizing it. Pasteurization kills harmful bacteria while leaving beneficial bacteria that will help to fend off contaminants. If you sterilize, you kill both and lose your defense.

In that case, what tek do you guys use to pasturize? What are some links to good pasturization teks? Besides the 1 thats at Shroom info>Adv. Teks>Sterilization. I only found 1 pasturization tek there.
Also, here is a quote from http://www.shroomery.org/index/par/23705 about the consistency:

Does anybody know where I can find any ratios? When I first did the PF tek, I fucked up and wasted a syringe because I didn't know the correct consistency to use. Then I found a tek with a consistency calculator and ratios. What I need right now are ratios for Horse poop:Water:Straw. Anybody know where I can find that kind of a ratio, or have enough experience to give me a rough estimate?

Here is the double tub method. Except this guy uses dried worm castings instead of horse crap.
His tek confuses me tho. He talks about putting the dung/verm mix into the oven, but in the tek he doesnt talk about using verm in the spawn at all.
So.. Should I PC my straw, but pasturize my poop?

you can mix them and pasturize together in the oven.
the verm was added because adding verm to your poo gives it a more airy texture and holds water much better.
