Well however you spell it, it goes in 50/50 casings and I see it used in grain teks....Where do you get it? can i just crumble a lil sheet rock? ( I have heard that refered to as gypsym) Someone, anyone please answer.. I'd like to try grain teks and 50/50 casings I'm almost out of vermiculite and even though I can find verm its still a bitch to get+I'd rather be more natral/organic

You can get gypsum wherever homebrew supplies are sold.

Gypsum can be found in the garden dept of any store like home depot or lowes, etc..

Coir fibre would be a more natural alternative to vermiculite. Works great too.

Were at home depot ? they are a big store and usually the help is ...well paid on a basis of their knowlegde and skill.HEHEHEHEHEHEanyways I wouldn't know how to lie about what I'd be using it for and there are no local brew shops were i live:(

I've read that a fine powder is the best way to use gypsum. It's used as a PH level regulator. So i've read.

I dont see why you couldnt use finely crumbled sheet rock, someone turned
me on to the fact that gyp is plaster of paris and theyre basicly the same.
The gypsum is to loosen up your grains so they dont clump, its not a vermiculite
substitute.
