Myc growth inside stems...
    #3490451 - 12/13/04 12:02 PM (12 years, 4 months ago)

AFOAF was checking out someone else's success baggies, and decided to do a little dissection...there was a LOT of myc growing up inside the stems...

I didn't want to hijack another thread that recently mentioned this topic...

but someone mentioned that the myc growth inside the shrooms is due to "high-humidity"...

Isn't the fruit basically compressed myc? So then finding myc inside the fruit is like a pit inside a peach right?...or does that myc actually grow there do to conditions?

And finally, are there any positives/negatives to that extra myc growth inside the actual stem?

Thanks all

I know what strikes me as odd about this. It is totally unnatural. The whole idea is just totally backwards.

So are historians going to look back at 'The Great Cake Eaters'? Damn. That was a backwards step in the evolutionary process. We left Shroomheads in the dust. Welcome to the new age of Vermheads.

I ONLY STUDY legal, edible mushrooms and mycology. Any mention of any other kind of mushroom is purely fictional, and pictures are ripped from the internet. I do not grow mushrooms!

Yea...mycelium is edible, too.  You could eat part of a cake if you wanted, apparently...*though it doesn't seem too pleasant...mushrooms are the fruit, not the mycelium
