I used verm/brown rice in qt jars and inoculated with thai koh samui. I cased this bin and 3 others with 4 differant strains 3 qt jars a bin. all casing was sterelized and all was fine until day 4 in which the thai myc was quickly devoured by this contam( no other bins were affected and the thai jars had no contams when birthed and spread in the casing.) Anyone know what this is, is it dangerous, can the myc fight it off( there is still some uncontaminated myc left,) how can it be avoided in the future, and should I scrap it??
I'd call it 'Uglee'. Because the pic doesn't show the whole casing you can't see the degree of contamination. Regardless, contamination like that usually doesn't take too well to surgery/treatment if it's progressed very much. If you have other casings that could be affected, I wouldn't even mess around trying to save this one.
