Recently I have noticed my latest batch have developed these brownish spots at the base. It seems to be only where the base is fluffy from mycelium, in fact you wouldn't notice it unless you smoosh away all the fluff. And there is a large amount of myc on the stems, I think the humidity is too high despite cracking the lid of the chamber and regular fanning.
On peeling a very thin section of skin off, underneath is healthy white.
Some of these shrooms have developed blue bruising in the area, which is what alerted me to the presence of something going on under the fluff.
The shrooms are mex cube, grown on brf, cased in coir/verm. In a small PMP type arrangement. And they seem very healthy.
I've searched the forums, but cannot find anything definate on what this might be or what to do about it.. At first I thought it was from the coir casing, but that wouldn't explain the bruising some are showing. The closest I've found on here is someone in one post describing something named as 'blight'.
