Cloned GT fruitbody on MEA. Notice how even the cloned culture from one fruitbody produces different growth types.

Detail: rhyzomorphic growth.

where did you purchase the agar?
are all the nutrients you need already in the petrie dish?
if not - what did you ad?
please refer me to the tek on this one if you can.

Anno.. Could the cloned material have had GT spores on it that germinated?

> so - is this what they call liquid mycelium? no, it?s mycelium growing on a petri dish filled with malt extract agar
>where did you purchase the agar? www.sporeworks.com, you get smaller quantities at www.mushmush.nl
>are all the nutrients you need already in the petrie dish? yes, when it?s filled with MEA or PDYA
if not - what did you ad? The MEA:
1 liter water
20 g agar
20 g malt extract
2 g nutritional yeast
please refer me to the tek on this one if you can. http://www.mykoweb.com/articles/cultivation.html ---------------------------------------

Hardly. I cut the cap off, then teared the stem apart and cut a piece of the flesh out at the base of the stem.

The clone on the next transfer. Still two different kinds of growth.

Do you think a mushroom can be made up of 2 diffrent strains, or is this 1 strain with 2 manifestations?
curious.
Try getting a sector with just the rhizo growth and grow that out, ditto for the cottony stuff. Do a combo too.
this is very interesting.
One explanation might be you have both the strain of a mushroom, and a strain that composed that fuzzy mycel at the bottom your donor shroom(you know what im saying dont you) cause thats what that cottony growth reminds me of. Just a guess. Anyone ever isolated "that fuzzy mycelium"? Will it fruit?
I was here but now I'm not, I have gone to smoke some pot. Left this here to make a point, if you wanna get high all it takes is a joint

Have you isolated the cottony growth? Doesn't it eventual rope up? Might just be trauma from the scalpel?

Eventually the cottony growth pervaded the rhyzoomorphic after the 3rd transfer!
Strange strange. I dumped the culture. I have a jar of rye spawn which I made with a rhyzomorphic wedge though, it shows mixed growth.
