Last night I slept for a whopping 22 hours straight.  I just kept having some awesome dreams and so kept sleeping!

Yeah, I love having dreams. Recently I've been thinking of committing myself to a "lucid dream" regimen so that I could have lucid dreams more easily...

Also, I've been meaning to post about this...but you know that space of time when you are neither asleep or awake? I've had so many weird, weird things happen to me during that time. Clearly not dreams, but not something I have while fully awake either.

yes! that is the state that exists between slepp and wakefulness... this is where "alien abductions" occur, "incubus/succubus" nightmares", night terrors, astral projection (debatable), i once saw death appear in my bedroom here, sleep paralysis, many other things.... uncountable things in your imagination.

Every next REM sleep cycle lasts longer than the previous one. So basically if You have slept more than 9-10 hours what You get is almost continuous REM sleep, i.e. - dreams, which can be pretty cool especially if You are able to keep on sleeping and remember all the dreams afterwards

sleep paralysis is a scary thing! i wasnt quite sure i was alive... you can hear everything around you but its like you're tranquilized and cant see or move and you're just yelling in your head trying to break into your body.. i literally thought something happened to me and i was waking up as a ghost or in limbo or something.

Keeping a dream journal (which in my humble opinion is the most important part of attaining lucidity) is an awesome thing to do, especially if You are a writer. It means that every time You wake up from a dream Your writing skills are challanged by some of the most unimaginable and unbelievable realms and events. It's a great way to improve Thyself. Also many great things have been born from the dreamworld. Samuel Taylor Coleridge wrote Kubla Khan and The Rime of the Ancient Mariner inspired by dreams. A dream gave Robert Louis Stevenson the plot to Dr. Jekyl and Mr. Hyde, Edgar Allen Poe frequently used dreams as the basis of his stories etc. etc.

Here you go Elle. I remember reading your trip report and I enjoyed it a lot so I went to have a look for a lucid dreaming website. Dunno if you already know it.
