And the diagnosis is
    #3483576 - 12/11/04 10:34 PM (12 years, 2 months ago)

Suicidal shroom! OHHH NOOO "somebody stop him".

So their I was peepin at Rodgers cake, everything was looking great, the one pin that had started to mature was kickin it and the other smaller pins were plumping up as well. so I'm back in my room less then 2 hours later and the slightly mature beauty has jumped off the cake and is just siting there in my PmP. Its was a strange moment. my first harvest shroom but not on the terms i was expecting. That's mushrooms for you though, always catching you by surprise. At least the whole cake didn't fall over and crush it. so any ideas why this happened? thanks.

pin day 3

day 5.....11.2 grams

Its not just the feeling of accomplishment, theirs just something about mushrooms that are oh so magical.
Well, i decided it was only appropriate to indulge on my first fresh cube ever being as it must have been a sign when it it jumped off the cake like that. I have experienced mushrooms before but never a fresh off the cake Aussie cube that took about 3 years of reading and months of prep to produce, but man, its already been worth it with all the info i have gained. Thanks everybody and have a great night, i know i will.

The first time you grow mushrooms or attempt to grow a new species and succeed, it is one of the best feelings in the world IMO. When your hard work pays off in the end and you can enjoy the fruits of your labor, THAT is the best part of the hobby. I feel sorry for the little shroomie, but I am sure now that you have the hang of it, there will be more if its cousins in the future...

Mabey he was just feeling like he needed a change... was probably on his way to Florida or something....

11.2 wet weight sounds about right... it is the size of a lighter after all.

I know what strikes me as odd about this. It is totally unnatural. The whole idea is just totally backwards.

So are historians going to look back at 'The Great Cake Eaters'? Damn. That was a backwards step in the evolutionary process. We left Shroomheads in the dust. Welcome to the new age of Vermheads.

Thanks for all your input everybody. I love this community!

Just a little update on the cake...many more pins have popped up and started to jet towards the heavens, they are lookin great, none as bulbous as the first guy, but equally exciting to watch a cluster of 4.

Thanks and peace.

p.s. When doing a second flush dunk what are some heads up? Do I roll in verm again? Wont the verm that's on the cake already get super saturated and harbor contams? I guess not....i mean the point of verm is to hold water, but cant you have to much water? Any tips welcome. thanks again.
