Fresh Mushroom Tea
    #3481998 - 12/11/04 04:34 PM (12 years, 9 months ago)

I remember reading about this and couldn't find nothing. I just picked a bunch of fresh psilocybe cyanescens. Since I was planning to trip today anyway and just ran into these fresh ones, I figure why not save my dry ones and make the tea from the fresh ones. But I remember reading that fresh shrooms require a different method of preperation (dry soaking or something???). Anyone wanna fill me in?

what I do with freshies is blend them up to a semi mush (forgive the description of my prep, mushrooms have fibers, leave some intact) and put them in some cheesecloth, and dunk under hot water. it's hard to do this in a cup so you may need to do it in the pan you boil the water in.

even though these wer dry, you can see how it doesn't take that many mushrooms to have a trip, 30 grams fresh is enough and can be reduced to a much smaller amount of space if they are chopped. Your best bet is almost to ask in the culinary forum... I'm not sure what the best way to eat them is. Can you fry them on a pan and cook them like that and eat with a meal?
