yeah Home Depot or any halfway decent garden center. Don't look where the big bags of manure or grass seed are, look for small bags at the indoor gardening section like where the bonsai trees and hydroponic supplies are.

Hope Depot carrys Scotts brand crap which doesnt make verm. I'm not sure about lowes. Either way at this time of year there is no where locally I can buy verm here..its out of season and the companies that deliever it dont even deliever it so no where can even special order it for me. Bghydro.com has 1cu foot bags (like 30 quarts) delievered cheap. I know you said not online but good luck otherwise. Check all nursurys and landscaping places.

Lowes does carry vermaculite, that's where i got mine. But its pretty fine vermaculite. But then of course my jars colonized fast.

i posted earlier that the only place you can get vermiculite this time of year is specialty gardening stores. Lowes might have a few left in stock, but HD and most nurseries are out.

You are a newbie? Nooo say it isn't so. You had better change the spelling of vermiculite, before you get your first taste of Anno.  :smirk:

BTW spell checker rocks

Welcome to the Shroomery.

Visit any local garden stores. Not all of them have it but some small businesses do have it in stock.

but if you go to Lowe's for your verm you can check and see if they have San Pedro in stock.

and you also have allot better chances of seeing hot cashiers at Lowe's, they deliberately hire hot girls at hardware stores cause the construction workers like it, garden store workers are always old people.

I was having a hard time finding verm at this time of year too. My local HD doesn't carry it in any season and Lowes was out of stock. I had to drive an hour to a specialty gardening store and I bought the last two bags they had.

If all else fails, lower your standards, and drive far to do so.

But if the option is there, go to Lowe's
