water in bottom of jars
    #3478176 - 12/10/04 06:41 PM (19 years, 3 months ago)

well i noticed today there is standing water in the bottom of at least one of my jars. not a lot but enough to make me ask about it. These damn jars have been colonizing for like a month now, i must suck at this shit. Im going to upgrade my growing conditions soon, but how is this water? Im thinkin about pulling the cakes, starting over with better conditions and seeing if i can get any fruits of these cakes, im so sick of waiting

If you are using brf then you should not have standing water at all. The reason for your slow colonizing is probably due to the fact your substrate is too wet. What are your incubating conditions?

i got this heating pad i gotta heat up and throw back on every few hours. So they get hot, then cold, hot, cold, etc, everyday. I really need to go buy a heating blanket. It started as condensation between the mycelium and the jar, but the condensation grew so its a good bit of water, doesnt cover the whole bottome or anything.

Brand new: I would suggest using the tub-in-tub incubator tek

You put the incubator tub within another tub which has water and a submersible heater in it. This way your temperature remains consistent.. I'll try to find the link

Well I can't find the link right off but just holler if you have any questions about the tek.

I was told to keep the heater at around 90 degrees.

Seems to promote quick growth
