Sometimes some Myc will be a tiny gray off / collor. Have PATIENCE & see if it goes to 100%, or not & if any blue / green mold crap shows up.

Here is what blue / green looks like in a WBS jar.
Contam got in during G2G transfer.

Off white is usually ok..cobweb is more grey they just offwhite..but depends on how everyone sees the colors..like agar said wait it out. If its mold it will take over a jar in a day or two..mycelium will take longer.

well, the jar in question is fully colonized, however, about a 3rd of it is that pallid brownish tan color. i think that when i birth it, i will separate it from the other children. it just doesn't look right. maybe i'm just being a freak newb. all the other jars are at 98%. my friend is keeping an eye on them as they are at his place a few blocks away. i hate being a damn newb. it sucks mold! thanks for your advice. i'll keep you posted...

If 100% colonized quite likly myc piss..yellowish brownish color..sometimes it can look yellowish brown too..the myc that is. Generally if a cake is 100% colonized you wont get contams growing on it..the myc will fight it off.

If it is a contam, it will spread to the rest of the cake. Quickly. If it doesnt spread at all, your ok. Seperating it can't hurt. A single cake could be put in a 2 litter bottle with perilite in it to keep it seperate..and put it in a different room even..if its mold then theres spores and you dont want that to spread.
