Just get a subscription guys, seriously. at least one story per book that ius just plain trippier than wiccans. damn wiccans. anyway, the art is very psychodelic.
Also, Ever hear about big guy & rusty the robot? check out the comic by geoff Darrow & frank miller. (Super trippy)
Last & most important is The Big Damn Hard Boiled (Darrow Miller) it was there for my first trip and I still bring it out to blow peoples heads off with. ENJOY

Wow. I actually haven't seen an issue of Heavy Metal in a few years...actually at least a year before the first time I tripped. I always enjoyed the mag, even without any chem influence. I've been away for a while, but I have to agree, there's always something in each issue that is just fucked up and nice to look at. I'll be back home in less than a month, and you can bet I'll be getting back into Heavy Metal.
