my cakes play tricks on me

I have a bunch of jars going right now. Some will be coming out soon, and some are stragglers. I was looking at them yesterday and found some weird shit going on in a couple of them. They must've been mixed with too much water...there was water sitting in the bottom of the jars. So I took one and tipped it upside down so the water would drain into the verm seal and evaporate, or redistribute. As I was checking out the bottoms making sure all the water was gone (these are fully colonized-just not pinning yet), there was like JELLY on the mycelium, as well as mycelium strands growing through it!? Could it just be water and mycelium? What the fuck?
