Re-wet Casing Layer?

When I did the casing's, I steralized them in the oven for an hour. They have been sitting for 2 days, so should I mix more water in if they have dried out? or just mist a lot?

The top casing layer. Its 70 % verm / 30 % potting soil. When It was first mixed up it was pretty damp cause.. but i'd expect that quite a bit of moisture was lost in the cooking of it..

I can't tell by just looking at it... plus I steralized it. I don't wanna go stickin my hands through there.

That?s the problem with caings that contain much vermiculite. Use 50/50 peat/vermiculite and you will be able to tell how moist it is.
