How often should one shake>?
    #3471753 - 12/09/04 06:54 PM (13 years, 6 months ago)

just wondering how often a good shaking is good. My friend did day 3 and 4 and now he thinks he should jsut let em go( it seems that by day 7 all grains had myc, though not think and or rhizo ).    mainly is the second shake a good or bad idea, or does it matter :P

He was using liquid culture, not spores BTW.  Brilliant, looks fun.

well for example, all his grain has myc, though he would only say its at 40 % because they need to thicken up, ya know? do you mean by surface area? or where 100 % means you are spawning/casing etc

surface area. those % are 100%= outside colonized. not 100%inside and out

um he shook his jars and 2 days later they were 50% somehting isn't right.. from what i have learned it takes a few days to heal the myc to continue growth..but hell i can't say it didn't good job..

cool, how did you get such a fast colonizing time? what was the total time from 0% to 100% outside? yeah if its fully colonized on the outside just wait for a couple of days no need to shake. i would guess it to take longer if you shoke now cause the mycelium would need to recombine together, just a guess though.

Personally shake at 10% and if needed at about 60% if theres no myc on one side and the other is fully colonized but usually the first at 10% is enough. Shake right after injection as well of course. And shake the syringe before injection!
