It'd kinda the same reason I choose weed over alcohol
I enjoy both, one just fits my personality a little better.

i enjoy not being censored. i have a feeling if i said fuck too much in the pub i'd be banned.
except for the scat thing. wonder if it'll ever be allowed again.

I prefer otd because people in otd actually understand sarcasm & do not get easily offended. if you say something in the pub, all these hippie people dont get it & get all angry.

I do enjoy the pub over otd. I like the way the people in here make me feel. Maybe because I feel welcomed and the vibes I get from here always put me in a great mood.
I do enjoy OTD occasionally. I go there for some good laughs and occasionally when I'm feeling a little onry, I will go there to stir things up.  Just a little.
I like alot of the people in there as well. There are quite a few assholes in there that sometimes I just don't feel the need to get involved with. I haven't found an asshole in the pub yet!

people here are nicer and more settled. you dont get messed around for saying smtg regular. you can have decent conversations with people here. any time you say smtg nice, you are not generally labelled a hippy and insulted
I see otd as people talkin mostly about things without much susbtance in the topics(for me). Yeah it is fun sometimes though. but generally mostly boring stuff for me.

I occassionally go to OTD, but the Pub seems to have more of a relaxed atmosphere (towards each other, not towards pictures and language,) and doesn't respond by flaming or nonsense as OTD often does
Though OTD is funny at first, many of the attitudes of the posts there get old pretty quick

otd regulars post way too fast with one word posts. pub has a little more substance, but otd has a lot of humor. otd goes way quick. i just like to post in the pub.. what can i say

I use both forums for different purposes. When I want a chill conversation with nice people, I go to the Pub. When I feel goofy and want to make dirty jokes, I go to OTD.

I post in both. I post there when I want to get harrassed and ridiculed. I post here when I want good conversation without all the fucking cursing at one another. People get heated up here, but they tend to be a bit more civil. The threads stay much more coherent here too. But I go there for a few threads and because some of the harassment is kind of funny sometimes.

I've not been here long enough yet to get into OTD... *but* I hear from some friends it can get a bit... inane, to put it lightly.
No offense to anyone's topic, but like "post the first word that comes to mind" and such thing are, to me, pointless threads where maybe the only point is to post for the sake of posting......
I'm just an old hat forum-er. Been doing this for many years on many forums and made many thousands of posts. Ran many forums (some with thousands of users, some with less than one hundred), and to me, it's a forum, you should post with substance - because this isn't a fricken' chat room. Of course, I've been in it long enough to know people are going to do things like such anyway, so it's best if I just ignore it and stay out of it - won't make friends raining on anyone's parade .
... So I guess what I'm saying is, I'll probably be spending more time in here than OTD if it is as bad as it is occaisonally presented to me (even some posts in this topic).

I prefer OTD as its funny as hell. I love the way OTDers will say exactly what they think. I find the Pub a bit mushy and lovey dovey for me. That doesnt mean however that I don't appreciate it. I post here very occassionally. I just prefer OTD as its unrestrained atmosphere suits me better.
That and I've never ever heard a GD song in my life.
PS. I'm sweating profusely now. I dont think Ive ever made a post that didnt either:
a) contain a swear word
b) contain a link to something gross
c) contain loads of sarcasm
d) contain all of the above.

I post in the Pub more because it is just more laid back. I can start a thread (most of the time) without worrying about being called a name or being made fun of.
I have been known to post in OTD for the entertainment value which OTD is known for.
