 Quebec Smoking ban Jan 1st?

I heard that Quebec is planning a complete ban on smoking in bars and restaurants starting January 1st, following in the steps of Ontario. I'm having trouble finding any proper articles about it, though, and am starting to wonder if what I've heard is just hearsay...
Thanks to anyone with more info on the subject.

hey it happens. happened last year here in NY. I smoke cigs, but I am glad they banned all public smoking.

I visited home the 4th. (Buf)
I'm standin' at a bar, light a smoke, shootin the breeze, turn to see a "drink on dec" cup, but it's upside down, and filled with clear liquid.
I pick it up (I'm already drinkin' stoley's) and smell it, look around, and the guy next to me says "thats your ashtray"
and i'm like WTF?
Some of us know the rest of the story....

been like that for 4 or 5 years here. people bitch about loss of buisness but they actually got more once peopel realised there isnt any smoke in the buildings. im all for it, i like not breathing that shit in. i feel liek lighting up a joint every time someone lights upa cig in a restaraunt. just disrespectfull imo.

Yeah Im 100% for it too.
All those people bithcing about loss of buisness are just fucking selfish. Cash, money, cash, money, Ohhhh my god, nooooo, perhaps ill do less money nooo!!. STFU
Yeah probably there will be less people going to restaurants 
I think its like any drugs, do them if you want but dont force me to breathe your smoke after.

Oh my god!! Quebec is going to be set on fire. We all know the french love their cheap cigarettes and smoking.. None the less it's for the best. Go Charest.
Also Ontario isn't the only Province with this. Manitoba has a province wide smoking ban aswell.

Here in Toronto it just happened last year I think, and in London, Ontario, it's been like that for a few years now.
I'm suprised they're doing it in Quebec, where everybody smokes.
I can't say I'm 100% for it, I think to ban smoking from every single bar is stupid. Really stupid.
For instance, downtown London has a lot of bars and clubs, there's one really large university there, and a few smaller colleges, so there's a fairly big nightlife, and it makes sense in a lot of the really packed clubs. Most of them have an outdoor patio to accomodate the people.
But there's one bar called "Click's", right in the middle of downtown. It's one hell of a seedy place. $7 pitchers, and really drunk, depressing, poor, old people. I doubt they have a single customer who doesn't smoke like a chimney. Now when I'm walking down the street, I have to squeeze past a crowd of the most intimidating, surly, pissed drunk old toothless bums who have stepped outside for cigarettes. They harass girls who walk past, pester people for change, and taunt you as you walk by, sometimes following, shouting incoherant, drunken threats for no reason in particular.
I can't think of a single good reason for not allowing smoking in that bar.

there's a ban in LA & NYC
people still smoke at the cool venues, clubs, bars in my experience.
nobody gives a shit.
