bulk grow questions

1) I plan on doing a double Tub set up. after placing 1 tub on Top of the other i have noticed that i do not have a very solid seal all the way around the tubs. What are my options to fix this problem? I thought i may be able to use cloths pins all the way around the tubs. Would this be air tight enough?
2) For both the top and bottom tub i planned on making 2 0r 3 quarter size holes on each side. Would these holes be big enough? or possibly too small?
3) When i fill the holes with polly fill how tight should i stuff the polly fill?
4) I have two bails of straw and 5 ponds of dehydrated manure. I am confused on how to pasteurize both. Should i do booth in the laundry bag together? Or should i do the straw in the laundry bag and the manure in the roasting bags in the oven? I would like to make this process as easy as possible.
5) I was thinking of a 70/30 ratio straw to manure. Does this sound correct?
Thank you guys so much for your time and all the help given.

maybe secure a layer of polyfill around the edge of the tub? go get some weather stripping that is self adhesive and line the edge? many things can be done...just be creative...or lay everything out in front of you... take 3gs of mush and let the creativity flow....

Thanks. I was thinking about the pollyfill around the edges as well. That is probably the route i will go. I just bought new batterys for the digi cam. So as soon as i get the grain ready i will start a grow log so be on the look out for it in a couple weeks or so! I wish i had 3g's of the goods! Thats how i found this site. Its been way dry around here and a good 6 months since my last trip.
Anyway. So i will hydrate the manure as per the directions im hopeing they send. Soak the straw for 24 hours then add the two together in the laundry bag and pastuerize?

simmering straw and poop for mushroom cultivation is a bad idea.

I dont think you know what simmer is, simmering is a very slow trickle of a boil, boiling water is much hotter than 170.

Pasteurizing does not kill it.So it would have to be over 180f. Don't know the exact degree.Hope that helps

Spliffmasta, thank you. Would i rehydrate the manure before adding it in the bag to be pastuerized. Or just add it dry?

I'm sure that you can just add it dry as long as you accomodate the expansion from when it rehydrates.

dictionary.com says 'To be cooked gently or remain just at or below the boiling point. '
I just wouldnt leave my bulk substrate over a flame at all, i do allot of bull shit to get my poo leeched and dry and all that,i dont want to mess it up. I oven pasteurize @ 170 3 hours.
