Black turkey recipe

I made this recipe. It was posted hee a year and half ago anf followed it to a "T"

IUt was the best.

QAnyone still have it? I may have to pull it from MANY piles of papers....

This was my last feast before becoming vegetarian...

If i find it, you show make it. IT IS THE BEST!!!!

Why is it black? because of burning the skin or spices? or what?

I posted that recipe but never heard if anyone tried it. Now I can't find it, but I did find this - http://www.pepperfool.com/recipes/holidays/black_turkey.html

It does seem to be the same recipe. Sorry I didn't see your request before Thanksgiving. You say you did the recipe to a "T". Does that include all of the drink breaks? :wink:

the term "blackened" in cooking is used to describe a method where you crisp the outside of a meat( or anything really) in a skillet with a little oil, and then plop it in the oven to finish cooking through...

When you blacken it, it creates a seal to keep all the yummy flavors in.., works well for cooking fish to keep it stick together.
