Observations on Mayan Calendar

As I may have mentioned before, I've been looking into validity within the Mayan calendar system as it applies to people. I want to point out a few trends I've noticed 1) "Rational people", ie scientists and etc, are most often Yellow or Blue 2) "Irrational people", ie artists and etc, are most often Red or White 3) People born on GAP days can get along with opposites more easily- ie they are more peaceful 4) Figures whose achievements are apparent in the long-term are often born on GAP days: ie Ghandi, Mozart, All four of the beatles ( an interesting "coincidence", no?), Einstein, Stalin, Richard Hawkings, Jimi Hendrix, among others reds seem to be earthy creators of new ideas for anything, like Niels Bohr, Ozzy, Morrison, Bob Dylan, Richard Feynman and Isaac Asimov and Andy Warhol In a particular test of laboratory workers, most were yellow suns. I'd like to point out that I do not believe that I have encountered a single yellow artist as of yet. Anyway, I cannot come to any actual conclusion yet, but see that automatically creating a list of people with criteria including sign and occupation could show very interesting results. edit: I want to insert a note that some of you may not be familiar with: Intrinsically, whites and reds are compliments, as blues and yellows are. Red is blue's challenge and vice versa, and the same for white + yellow.

Hrmm writing this I noticed a serious problem - my tests are not very random. I check on things I recall and etc.
I noticed a post a minute or two ago about les claypool and realized that I don't like him very much. I checked- and he was yellow. So I checked Syd Barrett - a period of pink floyd which i hate- another yellow. Then I ran out of ideas again.
And soo, I must conclude that this absolutely *must* be done automatically to avoid bias. I could write a program to do a simplified version of this, but how would I get a giant list of birthdays + occupations? any ideas?

all this sounds pretty interesting, are there any good links to the mayan calendar? I've got no idea what all these colours mean, i want to check if i'm going to have an important acheivement in history - that would be great! :p
I think of myself as a rationally thinking artist (that itself is probably irrational - according to that system at least.)
All i know about the mayan calendar is that it ends on 2012 and we're all gonna die, or transcend into hyperspace or something like that.

"Ah, the infamous irrational argument placing the end of the world at the ending date of the Mayan calendar... My wife's cute puppy calendar ends on December 31, 2004, why would the ending date of this calendar (which, by the way is the ending date of many more calendars the world over than the Mayan calendar) not carry the same or greater significance than the Mayan calendar's ending date?" -- Autonomous

www.icandosomething.com/mayancalendar Note that the GAP day in itself doesn't mean much. Diploid- not once did I mention the end of the world in my post, why are you trying to bring it in? That is your interpretation, not mine.

bah look into chinese horoscopes. I don't believe either has any real significance but they are very accurate (cold) reads.

I did. I'm looking into the Mayan side of things because it has been accurate in every case that I know the person, not to mention many people telling me how it perfectly worked on smoeone they know or themselves. This is significant because the Mayan horoscopes are NOT general and are far more specific than most others- any other kin# would be wrong in my case - the tone is perfectly matched as well as the sign itself- when I showed others, they just said "wow."
Either I'm running into one of the largest coincidences ever ( i've barely mentioned anything but I'm low on time now ) which keeps getting bigger, or I'm on to something.

I guess you can't even mention the word Mayan these days without somebody jumping to the end of the world scenario, even though.. I don't know how many times we've been over this very same topic in this very same forum.... the Mayans never predicted the end of the world.. nor did you even say or imply anything about the world ending, or imply the mayans said anything about it.. but it was thrown in anyway. So, that's an interesting observation Morrowind. If I recall correctly you are a red magnetic moon, and I am a yellow spectral star. yep... end of the world for sure.

Holy shit, I didn't know the world was going to end on 21 or 23 December AD 2012.

How would I implement that?
Note that a program would be doing this, so that makes what you're suggesting not very effective.

Don't know. But if you're looking at the results and have already formed a conclusion as you have it will be very easy to find the "test" forming conclusions in your favor.
I could immagine having someone else who has no knowledge of the project writing a short description of each person based on certain categories. Then having a completely seperate person who once again has no knowledge of the project trying to find comparisons between the people and group them according to likeness.

Well I'm talking about using census data or such- ie ONLY occupation and birthdate, then have a program analyze this. The problem is getting 100,000+ ( intended number ) people's birthdates along with their occupation.. especially since i need month+day+year for this

the Mayans never predicted the end of the world But you did in a recent thread when you posted the following nonsense:
Quote:
[The Mayan calendar predicts a] change in the frequency of which sub-atomic particles vibrate. Our current frequency is 9,000-12,000 times per second, it will jump to 12,000 to 15,000.
A change in the fundamental vibrational modes of all mater on Earth will also change the delicate biochemical reactions required for life. Such a change would necessarily be lethal to all life on Earth.

Really now, you're starting to get silly. Silly, yes. I'm just going by what the 'expert' in these matters claims. No discussion of the Mayan calendar is complete without at least touching on this very important topic: the end of the world.

To my knowledge, I have looked into the Mayans the most on this board. And why does an ending calendar mean the end of the world to you? Really now, my puppy calendar ends in january, and it doesn't mean the world is ending ;-)

And why does an ending calendar mean the end of the world to you? It doesn't. To me, the end of the Mayan calendar means they figured they'd calculated enough days to last a while, and it was time to take a break. Our resident expert, Shroomism, is the one making absurd claims about atomic vibrations. I'm just pointing out the consequences of those claims: the extinction of all life on Earth. Don't shoot the messenger.
