Fill up Tek

I was puffin on some Royal trin today when I got this great idea, so i tested it out and it worked great. What you need is a air pump, a check valve, some tubing and the correct sized container. Simply put small hole in the cap and one on the side of the container close to the bottom. stick a length of hose in each hole. (make sure they are air tight) and put your check valve on the correct hose and hook your pump up. You may need to lay your container down, Its pretty easy to get it to work right. Then you can hook the pump up to a timer for say 2 min once a week and you will never have to fill again! I hope this helps someone out. Tell me what you think. has this been done? Thanks. Peace.

im guessing. its a tek t fil up water for a colmist or somthing. Hook u pa fish pump up to your 5 gall container. The intake hose going into the top. an outake hose from the bottom of the tank leading into the top of your coolmist.
Timer puts pump on. pressure pushes water out into the cool mist. nto a bad idea i dont think

Alright here is what he is talking about. You need: 1) Tupperware 1) aquarium air pump 1) air check-valve 3) Lengths of tube Directions: 1) Put air-tight lid on top of container 2) Drill 2 holes: - First hole on top (through lid) - Second hole on bottom-side (through the side of the container near the bottom) 3) Attach the tubes: - One length from output to check valve, then the second length from the check valve to top of container (through the lid) - Now attach the third length from the bottom hole in the container to the fill hole in your humidifier. 4) Glue/Bead Seal the two holes in your container around the tube. Now when you switch on the air pump, it will force air into the top of your container. Since that will build pressure because of the check valve (it won't allow back pressure to go through), it will force water through the bottom hole of the container, and slightly uphill to your humidifier (so gravity won't be constantly feeding it) Now you can install a timer-switch to do it automatically. Help? - Oh ya, the reservoir would need to be refilled...but we aren't talking about a cycling system here, so unless you had a drip guard that forced water back to the reservoir, it is exactly that - extra storage...

Novel idea, however in effect all you are doing is expanding the time that you have in between water additions to your humidifier... Wouldn't be easier to just ghetto attatch a bigger resevior in the first place?

That's what I first assumed he was describing, but I don't understand why you'd bother to build a reservoir like this unless you're planning some kind of extended vacation.
