Sepedonium Contamination
    #3459737 - 12/07/04 03:08 PM (13 years, 4 months ago)

This is my first time cultivating, and i have slightly yellowish part in 2 of my jars. I looked on the contamination portion of the site and it mentions Sepedonium as yellowish but has no pictures. Can anyone be a little more specific about what that should look like?

How big are the spots, quite possibly just myc. waste or condensation coming into direct contact with the myc. which can cause yellow spots. If it doesn't get any bigger that's probably what it is.

Myc can turn a yellowish color. As said it usually has to do with excess moisture. It shouldnt become a problem. If the yellow is on uncolonized grains then you could be looking at a contam. Contams almost always start on uncolonized grain and wont start on myc or even consume it until the uncolonized grains have been taken over. If the yellow is on the mycelium then you should be ok.
