Spore solution may have frozen while sitting in the mailbox...

I ordered some spores not even a week ago from a vendor in Virginia. His site said to wait at least 2 weeks for the syringes to arrive, so I wasn't expecting them to be in the box today.
It was cold enough outside last night for water to freeze, and I didn't check the box for the last few days, so as the topic title implies, I think the spore solution may possibly have frozen last night. Should I be concerned about this, or do you think the spores are still good?

I think I know who pornaga is talking about (not a sponsor here), we at Sporesource have shipped syringes to Alaska in the dead of winter. They arrived frozen solid, and were still viable when they thawed. I think that repeated freeze thaw cycles are a problem, but a single freeze has not been a problem in my experience. I hope this has been helpful. In the future you might consider using one of the vendors from the shroomery, we all have very quick turn around. most of us ship orders either the day we get your order or the next day. It would not pay for any of us to be slow, and advertize here. Two weeks is far to long to wait for a delivery.

Hey hey, thanks. Actually, I had to one this particular site (--------) because I live in Georgia, and all the other places I checked won't ship spores here because it's against state law to own them. Anyway, I feel a lot better now, and thanks again.

Freezing - one time - isn?t a good thing, but in any decent spore syringe, there should be enough spores that remain viable, you should not have any problem with them. Hell, those that remain viable are the tough ones & those grow well.
LOL......one hot summer a B+ syringe order arrived in my metal mail box & it was around 110F inside it.
Some spores survived & something must have happened to them - odd...because they flushed weird & were almost albino. Like a box of chocolates, you never know what your going to get.

I think theres a big difference between a light freeze and a "hard" freeze where the temps are below 0F. (-17C.)

0 deg F = when salt water freezes wherever it was that Farenheit the scientist lived. What difference does it have on spore viability. or do you just mean temps slightly below freezing and far below freezing.

Those albinos are nice.. I wonder if they would grow new albinos from the prints. (without overheating them again)
