perfume in desiccant?
    #3457883 - 12/07/04 01:34 AM (12 years, 7 months ago)

I bought some desiccant today, hippo brand, and it is heavily perfumed. When i pull the shrooms out of the drying chamber they lightly smell of the perfume in the desicant. is this going to cause any problems with toxicity when consumed? has anyone else experienced this?

Perfume isnt something id want to ingest, mushrooms suck of fumes, thats why everyone in the hunting forum knows that ur not suppose to eat mushrooms by the highway, they just suck up every fume, not really any good fumes from the highway and a million car's/truck's every day. I've never heard of hippo brand but that doesn't sound good, what do the ingredients say? If it's just desiccant then there's something wrong with it if it has a perfume scent, perfumes always have some type of alcohol in then, you def. don't want to eat alcohol fumes, a tek that uses ethahol 90% alcohol lets all of the aocohol evaporate, but i dont think you can do that with your mushrooms. You could always eat them and see what happens,my guess is you get really sick to your stomach, worse case scenario u'll end up at the hospital, but who knoews, i wouldn't advocate eating those, but Gl

Not to be sleazy, but people commonly kiss, lick, and slobber perfume. The only negative side effect is that she ends up getting half your stuff.

if the desiccant didn't touch the shrooms, I wouldn't sweat it. JMO

Don't panic!
