Hey guys, i saw that some people put holes in their plastic terriums and put polyfil in the holes, would this allow you to not have to worry about fanning? This x-mas the girlfriend will be over and all ill really be able to do is the lighting, well thankx 4 ur input =)

You know what would work pretty good I think...put those holes with poly fill...then take a small lid from a jar (white lid to canning jar?) or something and super-glue/caulk/silicone it to cover the poly-filled hole. You now have an airlock...

Drill small hole in the lid, and stick your silicone aquiarium airline up to it...bead seal the edges, and smack-a-doodle-do

Any thoughts?

Try to impliment some other method of fresh air exchange along with the holes if applicable.

Yeah i've read it but i dont have enough space for it, it's a great idea, just not a good one for me, but thankx tho, it's appreciated,=), anyone else got any ideas and i like that airlock id, lol

i'd polyfil and tyvek the holes, personally.

that's about how far i'd push my luck.

i have a friend that helped me with my grow and helps take care of it when i'm not around (roommate and best friend). he knows what's up and what to do, usually just the daily misting. :smile:

Hm, i yjink that about what ill do, where should the holes/(airlocks lol) be placed, is it ok if they're below to where the substrate is or should i have it up higher away from the bottom?

If there's no pump, i'd put the holes down low because co2 is heavier than o2. if there is a pump, i believe the top is best for transpiration.

Use a pump with filter and holes on a timer... works beautifully!
