so check it out, i had to rebuild the carb, and now it's actin all funny. it's like this, all of a sudden, when driving down the road, it will just get a gang of gas and flood, and even leak out the front somewhere. then, as soon as it airs out, it will start and drive like normal... it's like, what the fuck... anyone know what this could be?

very much so, depending on what kind of carb you have it should have a nut on the side of the bowl. If you take this out and gas pours out its eather stuck or set to high!

see in the top left of the pic, the cut out section, that hole over flows, as well as it leaking out down between the throttle body, and middle piece (where the pump action things go down, and connect to the other side of the throttle lever) i dont know how to explain it, and i havent actualy seen it come from there, but it appears that it's coming from there, i tried to use a mirror and watc it come out (it comes out fairly fast) but i cant seem to get it to do it when thier's a mirror there, and it will flood by the time i get the mirror goin when it does happen, or it will not be as visable when i put the mirror tehre right after.

it sounds like something is going on with your float. if your float turns out to be ok, the below info may help you.
my jeep started doing the same thing after i did an engine swap on it. it would run great for about 10 mins, then flood out. it would start up again after about 5-10 mins and start the cycle again. i thought it was the float, because i had problems with it before. it turned out that the float was fine. i had a broken metering rod that was causing problems, but i don't think that was the main prob. there was something causing the choke to engage after the engine heated up. this was a few years ago and i can't remember how i fixed the prob. are you sure you hooked up all vacuum lines to the same ports you pulled them from?

if you replaced it during the rebuild, chances are it is good. to find out if the the float itself has gone bad, simply remove it and shake it. if you hear liquid sloshing around in it or it feels really heavy, the float has a hole in it and needs to be replaced

didnt replace it, but it was pretty solid feeling when i put it back in... you think it might just be adjusted too high?
if so, how do i adjust it proper? just bend it down a tad? i tried to adjust it to the specs, but it was wierd, and by that time, i had gas in it, i dont know if i got it to the right specs (3/8")

sorry i didn't get back with you, i fell out! Well after seeing your carb, i'm thinkin diffrent now! See.. i'm use to something like a holly 750 four barrel. On these carbs they have bowel with floats and adjustments and your dosent! Yours if i'm thinkin right, just has a needle and seat at the front of the carb. Check it out and see if its there, if so play around with adjusting it! That might be set to high.
or maybe you fixed it already!!
heres what my carb and float look like..........

ok, i replaced the needle and seat with the one that came with the carb kit, it said not to adjust it, but i could have bent it down when playing with it.... it died on me again, and i adjusted the float, and it happened again (i had to push it off a busy road REALLY FUCKING QUICK)
it's really pissing me off, i'm going to tell the parts store to order a new carb, $200, and it will be there in 5 days, jsut so if i dont fix it in five days, i'm just going to throw a new one on.... ya know?

here's the carb, gasket on, SOMEBODY didnt take as many pictures as had wanted them to while i was doing it....
the float is on the left, and needle and set on the bottom left.
i was really supprised on how easy the whole thing was, took me only like 2 hours to do the whole thing, but then again, i've spent twice that trying to drive down the road in peace

looks like a rochester monojet carb, those and the quadrajets are tricky with a rebuild, usualy after you've finished, it will push fuel past the accelerator pump and the pivot arm for the butterlies... is it also dumping it on the intake

it looks like it's coming out near the throttle body as well, inside and out, and then out of the hole too, hard to tell though....
how the hell do you fix this problem?
also, when it's flooding, it wont rev high or anything, it will go really low idle, then just die, i would think that since thier's much more gas going in, that it would race really higgh first.... but it dont....
