Did the fuck up my substrant?
    #345469 - 06/20/01 07:24 PM (23 years, 7 months ago)

I had two different prints and decided to make a schmorgesborg of cakes.

Equidor Strain
---------------------
I made three 1 pint jars with vermiculite/brown rice flour/brown rice grains. These seem to be doing well BUT...

Unknown Strain(sorry, I'm sloppy)
-------------------------
I made this strain using a mixture of vermiculite/brown rice flour/rye flour.
These jars seem to be colonizeing, but at a much slower pace. Is this because of...

A. Rye Flour is affecting it?
or
B. This unknown strain takes longer to colonize?

Keep in mind they have been colonizing for about 3 days. The first strain is doing VERY VERY well, the jars with this strain are about 40% colonized aready, whereas the rye mixture is only about 5% colonized. What gives?

The whole grains are making your substrate airier which is providing your
mycelium with more oxygen; the flour is more dense and has less air flow.
Youre probably doing just fine.
