enjoying things sober
    #3451322 - 12/05/04 07:04 PM (19 years, 3 months ago)

I really like how pot enhances stuff. Wasn't that one of the things they made fun of in Half Baked? Pot just makes almost everything way better....
music, books, sex, nature, talking to people, eating, bathing, working out, computer games... i love pot, it just makes everything so much more of a thrill compared to when you're sober.

My problem is...ok so how do you go back to really enjoying things sober again? I am trying to moderate my use of pot, no more than once a week, so that when I do use it I get the most out of it.... I know god didn't intend us to spend half our time stoned. I know god only meant for it to be a now and then thing. But it's like every time I do something I am always thinking about how much better it is stoned and how I'm like missing out on the full potential experience.
What do you do to not worry about that?

I used to feel that way ie: drugs make everything better. The good Lord created us and everything else and as far as I am concerned there IS no "better". Go out and walk B4 sunrise and look at the sky and marvel at God's magnificent creation and truly appeciate how phucking GR8 it is to be alive and breathing, that is all

Much Love  :sun:  :sun:

You can do everything better when sober. Try building something. Get a hobby that doesn't involve drugs.

Think how much better everything is to someone with Downs Syndrome, that is, except algebra. They even think pro wrestling is cool! Tell me, have you ever decided to watch pro wrestling because you are stoned and everything was better?

eh, mind alteration can be fun, but just plain gets old ... I enjoy my sobriety. I don't do anything very often at all because of this. I love to be myself 100%... but that's just me.

SEND MOTT THE HOOPLE RINGTONES TO YOUR CELLPHONE

(dimuccifasce)

I've been sitting here thinking
When i started out drinking
I went on to the dope surely just to change my life
I cried a tear and a beer for me
I lost everything near and dear to me
Namely my children and my wife
I've an idea of having a good time
Was sitting up there with my head between my knees
Well i knew everything there was to know
Everything except which way to go
I cried oh god please take me will you take me please

(yeah) many a time (well i) swore up and down
I don't need none of this junk that's a floating round
I could quit - let me finish what i've got
After all this stuff sure costs a lot
Then i get my feet back on the ground
Now i can't tell nobody how to live their life
Even though inside we're all the same
All these things are toys i was playing with
You know, you know we're all losers in the end

(well now) since i've been straight
I haven't been in my cups
I ain't shooting downs i ain't using ups

You know i'm still as crazy as a loon
Even though i don't run out and cop a spoon
Thank the good lord god well i've had enough
I've got a friend and his name is robertson
He told me "don't need to be stoned to know a friend
Believe me you're all beautiful people just the way you are
Tell me, what has that stuff done for you so far?"

I've been sitting here thinking i've been winking i've been blinking
Well i don't have to sit around no more on the nod
With my head in the air (you know)
I can do anything i can do it straight i can do it so much better now
Its gotta start
Right here in your own back yard
Yes it's gotta start back your own back yard

You know man, EVERY body has there own beautiful backyard, go have a look, you might find yourself delighted and surprised with what you find

"so how do you go back to really enjoying things sober again?"

this was a dilemma I faced when I broke my 14 year alcohol adiction. The key is to use the time you spent intoxicated in a different way. I suddenly found myself with a lot of free time that I had previously spent drinking and goofing off. I found that I had an intense fascination with computers. Before long I was spending that time programming, hacking, and learning the hardware. Once I became truly immersed in computing, to be intoxicated would have been a hindrance to my new hobby (which became my profession). Find that which you have a passion for and persue it. The hours you used to spend stoned will seem a waste in hindsight. Go six months before you resume even occasional use of marijuana.

If god didn't want us to be baked all the time he wouldn't have made the plant so abundant and wonderful
