drying time ratio?
    #3452793 - 12/06/04 01:48 AM (12 years, 5 months ago)

Anyone have a good idea as the percentage of water loss in the first 24 hours?

I'm thinking that the majority of water content would be gone by then, correct?

30% humidity no fan, big room

Use a fan!!! it will help alot. 1 day of just sitting will leave you upset... fanning for several days is best. if you need them dry faster use a desiccant

I know how to dry... I was just asking if anyone knew if they dry more in the first day than they do in day 2 or day 3.

or if not what is the percentage per day? like say 25% per day or whatever.

noone is going to know the answer to that. I suggest doing an expieriment. Record the initial mass, record the mass each day until they are completly dry. Then post your results so the next person that asks this question will be able to find out.

LOL, that depends on your method.

I once bolted a squirrel cage fan (SQF)to a 5 Gallon plastic bucket lid, drilled a few holes around bucket base, hung screen in bucket, put a couple pounds on screen (secured by lid), plugged in & 24 hours later, 97% dry.
Finished off with this:

Then vaccum seal in autoclave bag & throw in freezer.
Still potent a year later.
