PmP Pining question.

Hey all.
I dunked and rolled my first cake ever and threw it in the ol' PmP, my hygrometer is busted but there is condensation on the sides and i mist about twice a day for safety. My cake has been in there for 3 days and there has been very little visable growth i was wondering when i can expect pins. thanks alot.

My friend had a similar setup at one time. Took about 10 days to pin. 3 - 4 days to fruit.

as little as 3 day, as long as never. but you shouldnt worry about it till like day 12, i never go 12 days w/o pins.

yes, i have some jars in my tit right now, i inoculated them November 29Th, and they are 85% today :shocked:.

yeah, it was fully colinized, at least to the best of my knowlege. This is a first time grow. The cake was rubbery and all whit except for small verm chunks. Im so excited and nervous this is great. I hope everything works out.

can take up to two weeks for pinning to start. i'd start worrying around day 12 like psychoslut said.

dunk, roll, and double-end case those badboys when they're done. :smile:

I'm having the exact same problem atmosphere! all my cakes are fully colonized and i put them into the ter. with a piece of clear plastic put in the top to let light in. I dunked and rolled, and my cakes have been in for one week. Thanks to all for the advice on his problem but in addition, all my cakes are starting to grow really fuzzy and whispy mycelium all over. I know the temp is right and i'm sure there is no lack of moisture in there. Is this just the precursor to pinning? or is this a sign that i'm doing something wrong?

i stopped spraying because i thought maybe there was too much moisture, so should i keep spraying or should i lay off for a while?

What made you think there was too much moisture? If you see large water droplets on the cakes then you need to use a sprayshield. Other than that I can't imagine the moisture content being too high. An RH of 98% is optimal for cakes so just keep spraying 2-3 times a day and remember to fan often for a good O2 exchange and you'll be fine.
