How much surface area of perlite needs to be open when using casings in a grow chamber?

I have a grow chamber that can fit 2 casing containers I bought.
The concern I am having is, the 2 containers take up most of the base of the terrarium, not leaving much perlite exposed directly to the air.
Would this hurt my humidity significantly?

Use an air pump through the perlite and prop the trays up on stilts/pillars via cups or something above the perlite

Well I think I either need to buy some smaller casing containers, a bigger terrarium, or just put one casing in each terrarium(which is just silly).
Of those 3, I guess I just need smaller casings until I get a martha stewart.

Ideally you want as much exposed perlite as possible but here's a link to the grow log section where a guy had a similar setup as to what you're talking about with great results. http://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat...e=0&fpart=1

I'd say you don't really need much. I had 2 casings that basically covered the whole area of perlite but still had plenty of humidity in my terrarium for the casings to fruit. I don't have a hygrometer to test how much humidity there was but there was sweat on the sides of the walls with the occasional rundown.

I also agree you dont need much, but if you're truely worried you should elevate the cakes/casings off the perlite. You can do this with wire fence mesh sold at any hardware store. It is like chicken wire.
