I listen to alternative, rock, pop and jazz.

When I was born again, I threw all my albums away because all the Christians said they had backward masking. Tull, Zepelin, Doors, etc. All the good stuff from the 70s. What a fool.

I remember telling some Christians once, during my early new born stage, that I thought it was a sin to listen to rock and roll, even if it was Christian music. What a fool I was, then.

No Frog. You weren't and are not a fool. You just did at the time what you genuinely believed the things that you believed were in your best(spiritual) interest(s) ain't nothing wrong with that  I still have all my old Tull/Zep albums and have just recently aquired my very own first stereo(i used to listen to my records with 2 separate guitar amps hooked up to my turntable lol! you know: it the record skipped then just tape a quarter or a 50 cent piece to the tone arm and turn it into a miniature lathe )

It's kinda fun to lok back and reminice as to where i once was. These days i really prefer european electronic dance music for it's NRG

But if you knew the Swam then and he told you it was foolish and untrue, how would you have reacted?

My brother converted around age 19 and threw away (NOT DONATED!) his lifetime collection of almost 2000 Sci Fi titles - some quite rare. Naturally he also now regrets it.

Learning the foolishness in acts such as this teaches not to be so self-reliant in discerning what is evil and what is not. I think it can be a great teacher (even though you might still regret it).

I listen to the classics usually, mostly Pink Floyd, the Beatles, the Grateful Dead, Neil Young, Zeppelin, Donovan, Simon & Garfunkel, bands as such

What do you mean Swami, it is untrue? I have heard tapes where bands' music has been reversed and you can hear them speaking subliminal messages. Do you believe it's just the imagination creating it out of similar sounding words, or untrue as in it doesn't matter?

I agree that it doesn't matter, I doubt it even works really, but I don't see why you say it's untrue unless you've never tried

Frog: "it was a sin to listen to rock and roll"

That is what I was referring to as untrue.

The controlling Patriarchs find themselves losing sway, thus attack the symbols of such change.

I listen to smooth Jazz 107.9, Atlanta's hottest jazz. :jazzman: Among many other things such as RageATM and Audioslave, Rap and Classic whatever. I am a music connoisseur so in the mood of influence or boredom, I can pretty much enjoy anything

Ah, I thought you were responding to the "all the Christians said they had backward masking" part by saying it was untrue. My mistake then

Freak,
I like to listen to my own mixes that I create, from random chaotic order intertwined with the fallopian tubes of creativity which gives birth to the forms out of the formless Tao that sustains the atmospheric sands of life through the proverbial hour glass of eternity.

I can honestly enjoy the whole spectrum music? and usually listen to electronica and classical the most.

However, I must not forget the beauty of Silence; it is such sacred Stillness that is the very essence of all that is... And there could be no music without it.
:bananamusic:
God is Silence.

Wow man that's pretty rad, if you weren't being facetious, i don't know. I still have mine though, 2 of them actually. If you WERE being serious was there any particular reason? Or was tongue planted firmly in cheek?  :smirk:

Hey Skorpivo!

When you say mixes(i have NO clue how electronic (dance) music is actually made/created from a technical standpoint, do all you guys make it the same way?I'm trying to draw an analogy that will make my question better understood(hopefully lol!) I guess i am sort of asking You, man this is getting confusing,  um say you were a guitarist and i walked up and asked this same question(do all you guys etc) and you would say something along the lines of: well, we all play the guitar even though we all have different techniques, amp and FX set ups etc.....

Dayum: do you create your mixes like Hybrid, Robert miles, Rank1,chicane, way out west, orbital, aphex twin etc do/does? A simple yes or no to my original question will suffice  :sun:  :sun:

I love music!  Classic stuff like The Doors, Pink Floyd, Janis Joplin, Led Zeppelin, CCR, Whitesnake... I love No Doubt, I think I have a minor obsession with Gwen Stefani, Sublime...OMG Sublime puts me a place where everything is gonna be alrite.

Everything's gonna be alrite
Everything is gonna be alrite
Marijuana's in the house tonite
Everything is gonna be alrite
No woman no cry...

I like tekno too.  Hardcore, trance, deep house.  Oh that bass...it just creeps through your soul like a heartbeat and if you don't move, if you dont dance...you just might explode!

New rock, I heard an acapella version of Britney Spears 'Hit me baby one more time' by some guy and I thought it rocked.  Even some of that poppy stuff you hear in top 40's clubs is kind of catchy albeit lacking any depth whatsoever.

Music moves me.  All kinds.

Euro Trash, Euro Krap better known as Euro Dance, man that is the cheeeeeeesiest stuff ever(you hear a lot of remixes of early 80's cindy lauper, belinda carlise etc) but it's totally NRG'ized and  i  it

Classics like the Doors, the Floyd, Led Zeppelin, ZZ Top, AC/DC, Kiss, Guns 'n' Roses, Radiohead and of course Nirvana. I used to like metal, but not so much anymore (though I still occasionally play my old Metallica records).
Also: oldskool hip-hop (A tribe called Quest, Jurassic Five, LL Cool J, etc) , newer hip-hop (Method Man, Ludacris, Xzibit, Dre, some Eminem, Snoop Dogg, N.E.R.D., Wu-Tang Clan, [EDIT: almost forgot about Nas], etc), trip hop, reggae (particularly like Morgan Heritage), some ska (mostly second wave), some dub (though my knowledge of it is rather limited), some drum 'n' bass, jazz, bluegrass and country.
I'm not that big on what is generally called house music, although I do like Faithless, DJ Tiesto and the Prodigy.
