Cap size vs. Potency

How important is the size4 of the caps (before veil rips or right after) in the potency. In otherwords, if a recomended dosage was 6 caps is there a size factor involved.

First of all, you don't measure dosage by caps. There is no way to tell how much 6 caps would weigh. If you aren't experienced with eating mushrooms i suggest you start out with a dose of 1 gram and work up from there increasing it by maybe .5 grams every time until you get a dose you are comfortable with. As for maximum potency, I always pick mine right after the veil breaks. Also, why the hell are you only eating the caps?

Damn good question. I am a first time grower but old time field picker. In my youth (long long ago) there were no books or resources readily available for mushrooms picken'. As a matter of fact, there were only about 10 of us in town who even knew how to pick the right ones (I live near Tampa).

Just so you know for the future, Pops...the 'magic' is roughly equal in distribution between the cap and stalk. In other words, eat the whole thing.

Smaller shrooms and aborts are more potent by volume, but...higher volume is really what you are wanting, so bigger guys are more desired for that reason.
