When to cut the cap for a spore print..
    #3450174 - 12/05/04 03:25 PM (13 years, 6 months ago)

Afoaf has a nice 6 in. long fat daddy that he am gonna take a print from. He's been waiting for the veil to tear but it just keeps getting bigger and the cap is flattening out more and more.

Should he go ahead and cut the cap now? Also, can he leave the stalk to grow some more after cutting the cap or should he just pick it?

No. Wait. Preferably till it starts to drop it's spore.

Afoaf can't tell if the spores are dropping or not, the geo-lite is a dark color. How can he tell if they're dropping. Perhaps place something underneath the cap? It is kind of growing sideways that's why there are no spores on the stalk.

Veil protects the spores, I always wait until it just STARTS to tear.
