Anyone here got an Ipod(any generation or size)? If so what do you think of it? I'm thinking of getting one for christmas.

Two of my friends love those things.. they've been through most of the generations (places like Best Buy let you trade in your old one for a newer model (and maybe some extra cash is needed too)).
I'm thinking about getting one for Christmas too.. I just can't resist the little bastards!

Yeah the reason is because every morning I spend ages choosing what album to put in my CD player. It would be nice to just have them all in your ipod.

yeah, but you might just spend hours wandering around in the depths of your Ipod, choosing an album.
I do the same thing every morning, though. I get all excited about a certain album, can't find it, find another, but oh wait! Here's a good one.. but I've got their greatest hits, too, should I just put that in? Oh, it's the first CD I was looking for. Shit, green light!

I thought of buying one but its really expensive and the battery really sucks. so I guess I'm gonna buy the new model of Creative Labs Nomad Jukebox Zen Xtra 40 GB MP3 Player, which is cheaper and no battery problem. although it might transfer songs with 128 kbps. that would suck, although i have to research if its true or not.

I think the new Ipod batteries are getting better.. my friend's (don't know what model it is, it probably came out this summer) gets about 12 hours of play time to one hour of charging. That isn't bad.. the old ones were like 8 hours of play for 8 hours of charging, so meh

no, the old ones were 12 hours of play for 4 hours of charging. You can get 8 hours out of 1 hour charging.
I have a first generation one, it still works fine. Yes, the battery did die at first, but I replaced it. This battery, which has been in 6 months to a year, works perfectly. The problem doesn't affect all ipods, it seems battery-specific.

I was just goin by what my friend told me, so you're probably right. Anyway, the battery problem seems to be getting better.

do you mean that they are better in the sense that they changed the battery not being user replacable? or it still isnt user replacable but you just get more hours.

You can take it apart and replace it yourself but I'm not sure if it's that simple. You can send it to Apple for 100 dollars and get it replaced.

no its quite easy
1). You open the ipod with any thin screwdriver. 2) You replace the battery.

Have you done this? Does warranty become voided after you open it up yourself?

yes I've done it, and no the warranty doesn't become voided because there are no seals broken with replacement.

Hmmm, how easy is it to replace it? Where do you get the battery? Can you jog with your ipod?
