A prediction
    #3449184 - 12/05/04 08:41 AM (19 years, 3 months ago)

I am willing to bet(gentleman's bet only) that pretty soon my shroom rating is going to plummet dramatically like a sailor's pants on shore leave due to my recent conversion(although i don't like that word myself and i don' think it is even mentioned too often in the Bible if at all)to accepting My Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and through Him:God into my life

I hope not man. I mean, it is probable, but anyone in their right mind can see that you, despite stating your newfound beliefs, have remained a fairly neutral party and do not create seperations as a result of your religious beliefs.

I've heard you say several times over that you see no reason to love other "believers" moreso than you should love the "non-believers"... and by not making that distinction, or seperation, you truly examplify that you see the bigger picture--despite how your religious affiliation might cater to some peoples' needs for presumption.

I'm really glad you can see that my friend. I myself have witnessed first hand where a lot of "well intentioned" Christians despite their inner intent still manage to drive people away from God.I am trying my best to not make some of those self same errors but being human i'm afraid that for me to err is inevitable :frown: I know it would do no good for me to approach strangers on the street with my message(for lack of a better word)The very last thing i would ever want to do would be to turn anyone away from Jesus, and though Him, away from God

listen man... as long as you can acknowledge, accept, and make the proper recallibrations when you DO make an error, there is no problem with err. You just have to acknowledge, forgive yourself, and learn from your mistakes, instead of ignoring them like so many do.

To err is human... to forgive yourself for it is truly divine.

When i DO mess up man, please don't you or anyone else hesitate to point them(my mistakes) out to me so that i can try and avoid them in the future. I can't very well corect them unless they are pointed out to me

I tend to do that either way... it's just a matter of whether or not someone's egoic defense system steps in to deny acknowledgement.

Or, in other words, the signs will always be there for you to read, just make sure you read them.

We're all beings learning to be human. Whether its through christianity, a crystal, or a mushroom, we are all taking different roads to the same destination. As long as we respect the path chosen by another as what he/she/it needs at this present moment, all is well.

As far as errors are concerned, they are simply opportunities to do something differently. Insanity is doing the same thing and expecting a different result, so if it doesn't work, try another solution. You can never go backwards as long as you keep steppin'.

Agreed!

And Freak: You should check out the movie "Garden State".. it is where that shot in my sig came from. it's full of beautiful cinematic shots like that one. Really cool movie. Good soundtrack too, fits it real well. And the movie itself is all about reawakening.

"but being human i'm afraid that for me to err is inevitable"

noooo. _that_ is one of my differences towards the christian message that is taught.

it teaches we as humans are these "imperfect" vessles of a perfect God, that are natural "sinners", since the time of the first "sin" (Adam and Eve)

because of this, sinning is almost expected. but wait! we can always be forgiven by God!

so sin like nature has intended, then ask to be forgiven, and bathe in Gods glorious love

there is nothing wrong with forgiveness, but the entire notion of imperfection itself is a fallacy. We ARE perfect. Marvel in the perfection of this complicated system of existence.

strive towards aligning internal concepts of perfection with outward actions and behaviour

practice mindfullness of behaviour and interactions

there is no reason to "sin" (not that I believe in the term) if you truly are against said "sin".

we are a part of the perfect whole, ourself perfect, eternal and constant

to me, christianity appears as a "hobby" or a "club" over a devout path in many (not you freak ).

strive towards complete self realization on your own terms

and see how perfect humans are, as well as anything else

the amount that this notion gets thrown around "humans are sinners, imperfect, need guidance, need forgiveness, make errors and mistakes", you'd think there were tons of species well above us within our interactions to put shame to us. there aren't. we are all equal.

an error is a perception of a difference between what is wanted, and what is actually perceived. there are no objective errors, nor "sins".

it's just disheartening to see so many people take the path towards justifying our ill-percieved actions as the result of 'imperfect design', when change and alignment is VERY possible and attainable.

we are HUMAN. <- what connotation does that have?

this wasn't directed at anyone, just the general notion itself

Freak, if you were suddenly attempting to jam Jesus down everyone's throats (which is it does not appear that you are doing), then yes, your rates would plummet.

But I know I had never rated you before and I rated you because I was happy for you and what you have found, which appears to have brought you peace and happiness.

Even if it didn't coincide with my beliefs, I would be happy for you.

You seem to have a rational grip on your new-found spiritual life.
