Incubating in the 60/70-s
    #3449022 - 12/05/04 08:35 AM (12 years, 8 days ago)

Hello

A hippy has:
A certain strain which has been incubated on BRF for many generations in temps betweens lets say 68-72.

Now the Hippie decides to sell some of his spores cause the Euro made everything more xpensive.

Can it be that these spores have troubles growing/germinating in other substrates (like rye/corn), in higher temps?

CAn it be that if you incubate them on BRF in 82-86F that it wont go any faster then in 70F?

Or nonsense!?

Id be pleased with some expert answers here...

Thanks.

id consider that to be nonsense,
sice at a higher temp they will simply grow faster.

With either temperature or substrate, it won't matter. Spores result in new substrains that adapt to where they find themselves.

If you were talking about myc cultures or other clones, it might slow for a while on a new substrate, but they can adapt again after a slower start.

Ok so it can have impact >>> the slow start.

Since people grew cubes on wood, they cloned "TOWARDS" wood/ a substrate, I then could also imagine that you can clone "AWAY FROM" wood / a substrate ....

Here maybe this quote proofs teh statement that cubensis can get used to a substrate: "Using a different medium from time to time will prevent the culture getting used to one medium."
