WELL!! I just found some pins on my cake! only problem is the few that are poking out are comming out the leftover halfcolonized dry verm at the top! I've heard of picking the first few pins at the start as to encourage a more even pin set.... or should I just wait er out and see what happens.. i'll post pics in 5 min...

Am I jumping to conclusions in thinking that it will ONLY pin through the vermiculite? and anyone else have those HUGE bumps growing near the very bottom of their cakes??? thinking it could be because of the humidity at the bottom near the perlite...

could it be because my bubbler is only giving fresh air to the top of my terrarium? I have 2 holes in each side of it just above perlite level to drain C02...

Looking good bro. My opinion would be to just wait it out. You'll probably see pins forming at the base of your cake in another day or two. GL and have fun  :thumbup:

What a beautiful modification I made to my terrarium!! See I suspect the reason the cakes are fruiting at the top is because my bubbler almost reaches the lid of my terrarium... since my acrylic lid is not completly sealed I figured the air bubbles up and esacpes through the lid... therefore only airing out the top portion.. and not the bottom where the C02 collects...

SO!!! instead of putting my bubbler upright.. I laid it down on its back in a tupperware container... so NOW it bubbles only 2" from the bottom of the floor... this is turn should provide MUCH better air exchange for the bottom of my terrarium! any ideas?? opinions??...

Sounds like you're on a roll. Hehe, and a bit high strung at that. How many cups of coffee have you had in the past hour, lol? I dont mean any disrespect by that. On the contrary, the enthusiasm is kind of contageous and you've got me wanting to go dabble with my own setup but I think I'll leave mine alone for now.

haha no coffee just stoaked to see pins... you know how it is now I hope my babies wont be jealous that im headed to the strip club hahah... anyone ever been to a strip club on shrooms??? haha we talked about that the last time we were there... would be a very interesting night haha
