No No, a friend and I ate some Cyans and some MDMA last night.  Everything is fine with me, however my friend came down with some minor cold like symptoms at the end of the night. Stuffy nose, sinus pressure.  This morning he's running a little bit of a fever.  He is not experience any type of abdominal discomfort or diarrhea or anything of that sort. No vomitting or stomach irritation.  I'm just freaked out Though.  However I'm confident in my picking and I know how to distinguish between Galerina and Cyan's.  I'm just concerned as any friend would be  :frown:  Any comments would be nice!  Also, let me add we live in a dorm. and everyone is sick all the time, I think his system was just week and being up all night high probably weakened his immune system and he came down with a bit of a cold.

There's no mention of fever in "Mushrooms demystified", and I was unable to find free case studies on the net.

If there's even a remote possibility that someone has eaten a Galerina and become ill, that person should go to the hospital immediately. Amatoxins destroy vital organs slowly; the quicker you get treatment, the less damage.

If that were the case though, he would be experiencing severe discomfort by now because its been well over 12 hours since we ate those msuhrooms and everything I've been reading says that you start to experience the physical discomfort anywhere from right after you dose to 6-12 hours. Im really probably just tripping myself out...

It sounds like he has a cold.

If vomiting and diarrhea develop then maybe worry, otherwise he has not been poisoned.

what, Hell no, I steer clear to the Galerina's. They were Cyans wiht out a doubt. Everything I ever pick I spore print a few and whatch for the standard signs of Cyans with the rest (Blueing, etc...)

no one ate any galerinas...Im just still a little high and worried about my friend. I just talked to him and he said he just feels "cold" sick. Nothing abdominal or pain or anything like he would be feeling if he has been poisoned.

Onset of symptoms with amatoxins is from 6 - 36 hours. Most cases develop symptoms within 8 - 12 hours. Rapid development of symptoms is generally associated with large doses and, therefore, poor prognosis.

Lack of fever is a symptom of amatoxin poisoning during the gastrointestinal phase, from 8 - 48 hours after ingestion. So if your friend is showing a fever then something else is causing it.

Keep in mind that many poisonings are due to mixtures of poisonous mushrooms. Combinations of toxins can produce symptoms that hide the more dangerous poisoning.

Happy mushrooming!

Uh... might want to rethink what you were trying to say in that sentence. Perhaps "The only treatment is a liver transplant?"
