"youll find otd. other drug discusion" lol. ODD.

"for all you dummies  san pedro cactus also knwon as mescaline " hehe, it contains mescaline. But, its not known as mescaline

To the original poster: Do some research. But please, if that cactus is in the city, it almost certainly belongs to someone. Don't steal any. Ask them if you can cut a piece off to grow, I've heard of this working lots of times. If not, just buy your own.

I would suggest not taking it from nature, but rather buy it online from a vendor, but please do not take the entire plant which I have some people do. Peyote is a perfect example as to why this is a problem - being it is not endangered (or being). They most likely get it form a cacti farm. And as elgr already said, if you found it in the city, it probably belongs to someone.

Also, do some research before making a thread like this. San Pedro has been discussed at the shroomery many times and by doing a search you would have found the answer to your question. www.erowid.org is your friend

Very nice picture Arp!

I know once fully established they can grow over a foot a year.

However, how long does it take them to get to this point? I've seen some two year old half foot tall ones, but growth is generally slow at that point. So, how old would a vendor's rooted foot tall pedro be? (as obviously a cutting could be from a giant 12 year old cactus, or from a cutting that grew a foot in a year, etc)

Think they'd approve of you snatching other people's plants from the city?

Normally when someone doesn't really know anything about a substance except that they'll 'trip their asses off' and makes posts as childish as you, not really willing to put any effort into the matter I'd mention something about responsible psychedellic use.

However, you're not going to even cook this down.. I'm guessing when you steal this cactus, and blend it up to make the nasty froth you'll take 2, possibly 3 sips before pouring it in the sink. Anyone want to wager? heh.. its hard as hell to drink boiled down. Plus, before boiling mine down, this froth took up a good... 5 tall glasses at least.

heres a nice pic "but oh, that just looks like milk"

Heres a more appropriate shot
http://www.shroomery.org/forums/files/04-05/540446012-spprep18.jpg

you really think you could drink a number of glasses of this? maybe when you're old enough to cook what you want in your house, and have your own cactus sent to it from online so that you don't have to steal other ones you should check this all out again.

Oh, and you have no idea how simillar cacti can appear to someone who can't recognize them properly. Flowers are no way to identify.. plus pedro don't generally flower extremely often. Either way, I think your chances of tripping are slim to none. People who actually attempt to do it right often don't even trip.

Btw, why do you have at least 2 threads on this bullshit? Heh, the first time you were talking about the stealing, and later posted about how you had a cactus. I think you've posted quite enough crap here.

Reasons to stop posting about pedro:

1. You probably don't even have a pedro. You identified it based on flowers.

2. You're stealing it. Fuck off.

3. You seem to live with your parents. Scared your mom will walk in the house after work? Sniff, sniff, "Whats that smell? Johnny? No.. that smells like.. mescaline containing cacti that were cooked. Johnny, I thought we raised you better than this.. how could you?"

4. You aren't even willing to prepare it correctly, nor do you listen to anyone's advice on the subject. Good thing you started threads on eating a san pedro.

5. Given that you aren't going to prepare it correctly, like I said before, you'll have a a bunch of cups of froth. You aren't going to drink enough to "be tripping your ass off". Oh, and given how you seem desperate to do this, and said you drank a bunch of the green flesh, mentioning nothing of the bitter awful taste, I'd say you have another cactus anyway. Either way, you aren't going to trip.

6. "sharp stick things" ??????? Excellent call rockstafarian. I don't know how I could miss that. You're inching your way to having the stupidest post I've seen on this board. A guy once had a question about some mushroom seeds he bought. Sure, its dumb, but not everyone knows about the reproduction of fungi I guess. I could walk into a kindergarden class and ask what the "sharp stick things" on a cactus are and at least get the answer "needles".

7. You're stealing it. Fuck off.

ELGR, that is not how much you drink. It is mixed and needs to unseprate int he cooking pot. The blender cuts the cooking time fropm ten hours or so to 2-3 hours. And you cannot post one picture out of almost forty to try to convince someone they are going to have to drink the mixture in the photo.

You boil that down and it all becomes water when it remixes. The blender separates the water fromt he pulp. You boil it down and drink less an ten to 16 ounces. A pint. And it is easy to swallow a big gulp of the ddrink without thouching the top of your tongue to the top bridge of your mouth.

Why do you not just give him the url for the whole preparation of thye cactus.

mj

It works and it is pleasant and not horrible as you imply. I have dosed hundreds of people on such cati for over thirty years.

Mj, you seem to have misunderstood me.

He was suggesting merely blending and drinking, as he didn't want to cook. The pictures I posted were of just that, the frothy blended mixture. I've prepared using your method and its fantastic.

As far as it being horrible or not, thats a matter of opinion. The majority here, as well as those I've done it with will agree that the taste is rough. However, its not unbearable, and we pushed through it. Of course, it was completely worth it.

All I was saying about the taste, is that given that he hasn't any information about the ID of his cactus (that he stole), we don't know that its a pachanoi. If its not, it could very well explain the fact that he didn't mention the taste.

WEll Elgr, I did not see any ruckus but then i only responded to the last post above. AS for him stealing a cactus. That is not cool or good medicine.

What goes around comes around.

In Hawaii, there was a downtown hotel with about forty or so San Pedro cacti growing on the garden in front of the hotel. I noticed two philippino gardeners one day and asked for a cutting. They gave me about 12 of them because they were pruning the garden plants and cacti.

Unfortunately, I showed a couple of students from the Psychoactive Drug Plant Biology 401 class at the U of H at Manoa and one of the students I showed and three of his friends got arrested for stealing several of the cacti. They were caught on film with a butcher knife and a large box hacking away at the cacti. I seem to recall they got probation, a big fine and 100 hours of community service.

Also, I had my cactus (peyote), pictures at erowid, for 8 years growing. Must have showed it to more than one thousand people during my time in Hawaii and the last month before i moved back to Seattle, someone took the flower pot from my back yard.

So I do not like drug thieves. have a hard time. IT is not cool.

I also recall in the late 1970s, a guy got busted in a store in Jacksonville, Florida when i was visitng my relatives. He went to jail. Tried to walk out of the store with a catus under his coat.

mj

Stealing god's healing plants is not cool and I hope this person did not steal a cactus which will make him sicj

AS for taste, swallowing a gulp of San Pedro is a lot easier than chewing fresh buttons of peyote which will gag anyone. And the dried buttons are even harder because they are like rock leather to the teeth. The bitter taste of peyote is gross, but i have only gotton sick one time off peyote and that was dry heaves, chewing 12 buttons weighing one quarter ounce dried, a dose equal to approximately 500 milligrams of mescaline. I had no drinking water. Chewed and my mouth was bitter adn I plucked.

Glad you liked the preparation Elgr,

Mj and have a shroomy day.

mj, I had a feeling you'd tried peyote.

You should definately reply to this thread. http://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Cat/0/Number/3455731/an/0/page/1

There are few people on this board who have been so lucky. Given that none of us should take any from the wild, at least we can hear your experience.

It sucks how people steal your time and TLC from you. Did you get the cuttings back that were stolen john? Knowing how great of a person you are john it sucks how loose lips sink ships but at least you try to show otherss. I guess not all people get the big picture, plants grow, ask for a cutting and grow it yourself.

I had someone sneak into my backyard and steal a bunch of mushies from an outdoor patch and i was pissed. Luckily i only told 6 people and i found out the culprit.

Its shit like this that makes me think twice about growing my cactus in my backyard. A bright ass motion sensor security light would be a good idea. And a dog always works well too... barbed wire.. i hope it never has to go that far.
