COMA is probably not the right word. Maybe there is the rare individual out there (1 in a billion) that would have an allergic reaction to shrooms and would go into a coma, but I've never heard of it. However, you can certainly get locked up pretty tight. I remember in one of my earliest trips my muscles locked up on me completely where I couldn't move. I couldn't talk or anything. Thinking back on it I have a feeling that we probably had something other than cubenis mixed in with our cubes. This was when I was about 16 and we'd go out in the fields and if we saw shrooms with purple rings and golden tops we'd just pick everything in sight that looked anything remotely like those. I'm sure we'd get some lookalikes at times and I have a feeling that's probably what occured on that occasion. I've had some pretty severe muscle cramping since then, but never to that extent. Anyhow, that's about the only coma like symptoms I'm aware of.
i've never heard of anyone going into a coma from taking mushrooms. some people experience the muscle tension that supernova talked about, but never comas. mushrooms don't really have any physical effects on a person after the trip, except you'll feel a bit out of it the next day.

"Mushrooms have no known adverse side-effects, other than leaving you feeling fatigued and probably surrounded by a load of mad paintings and some half-eaten chocolate bars."
